Commitment

A promise is something meant to be kept
A pledge is a vow
Sometimes it may be too much
Other times it succeeds
It’s our own personal goals
The little things we strive to achieve
It may be simple
It may be a tad bit complicated
But what matters is that it is taken seriously
And not for granted
It may help in our growth
It may strengthen our relationships
It may just be something on our minds
At the end of the day it’s a commitment
It takes courage to say
It takes strength and faith to fulfill
You aren’t alone
Don’t worry
There are people here
Who’ll help you along the way
People in this community,
People at home
Or people in your social circles.
And if all else fails
There is the Lord
Who is always at your side,
Who never leaves
And whose love never fails.
